News on International Writers Conference in Puerto Vallarta March 2015

Excitement is mounting as we lead up to this years International Writers Conference to be held at Los Mangos Library Puerto Vallarta on the 6th ,7th and 8 th of March.

Speakers include Caleb Pirtle giving the  keynote on Friday evening. Reknown local memoir specialist  Maurice Monette will give the opening plenary session on Saturday morning. Melissa Frost visiting academic from the University of Virginia will give the opening plenary presentation on Sunday morning on Twitter sans frontiere and the impact of social media on contemporary writing.

Also don’t miss Donna Dahl’s How to use Twitter workshops which will launch you into using this arm of social media. On Friday pm Thomas Pulley  will give a songwriting workshop.  I am not a songwriter but will not miss this workshop as Thomas is one of the wittiest, funniest writers I know and a real gentleman to boot.

The very talented and experienced writer and teacher Sarah Cortez from Texas will be sharing a wealth of information on the nut and bolts of getting your ideas from thought to printed word. She is a memoir specialist but also covers the genre of poetry. If you are a poet she can help you hone your craft.

James R Callan is going present an interactive workshop on dialogue an essential but neglected skill for many of us writers. This is an opportunity not to be missed.

Also in attendance Evelyn Byrne from White Bird Publishing and Elise Capron from the Sandra Dijkstra Agency in California. If you have a manuscript ready and if you are registered Evelyn will look at it as long as you submit it to her before the 15th February.

You can also book an appointment with Elise to discuss your work and whether it is a good fit for her to promote.

The cost of the 3 day conference is only $125 or $50 for the keynote or $70 dollars per day
